They may have gotten snubbed for a nomination, but Miss Piggy better lock down a stylist, because she's got a date with Oscar! 

A campaign started to get the Muppets to host the Academy Awards and while they went with Billy Crystal instead, the producers decided to do give them next best title – Oscars presenters!

Yes, according to the Huffington Post, Kermit and his lady love Miss Piggy will be presenting at the 84th Annual Academy Awards!

A new study by the Los Angeles Times has revealed that an overwhelming majority of Oscar voters are older, white and male.

Because the Academy is made up of Hollywood industry professionals (an industry that has a history of being primarily white and male), and because membership is for life, the voter pool is greatly skewed in the old white guy direction -- and includes many members who haven't actively worked in the film industry in decades!

With awards season in full swing, we can’t help but take notice to one of our favorite red carpet ladies who always look super fashionable – Miss Michelle Williams. Not only is she nominated for Best Actress at this year’s Academy Awards for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, but she has been looking nothing less than amazing on the red carpets!

The nominations are officially in for the 84th Annual Academy Awards and we at Hollywire are anxiously waiting the final results.

Since we aren't experts in screenplay writing, editing or cinematography, we figured we'd stick to what we know best here at Hollywire -- picking out amazing performances by some of our favorite actors!

So take a look at a few of our Oscar winner predictions, and then share with us who YOU think might be taking home the coveted golden statue! 

Ryan Gosling has to be THE most talked about, swoon-worthy man of the year, but why hasn’t he been shown the love where it’s deserved? Where is his Sexiest Man Alive title? And what about that infamous Oscar snub that had even Russell Crowe outraged on Twitter?

The Hollywood Reporter spoke to the Drive star at the Thailand's Hua Hin International Film Festival and asked him what he thought losing People’s Sexiest Man Alive title to Bradley Cooper. 

Russell Crowe seems to have something in common with every woman in America: he loves Ryan Gosling. The Oscar-winning actor took to Twitter, saying that Gosling's snub was "bull****." He then followed up with a tweet about Albert Brooks, who also was overlooked for his work in the Gosling movie Drive.

Generally speaking, pooping in a sink in a movie does not translate into Oscar gold. Unless, of course, you're Melissa McCarthy, whose wickedly funny performance in the smash-hit Bridesmaids has landed her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress!

But in spite of her Golden Globe nomination, Melissa was not expecting the Oscar nom at all.

Early this morning, A-list stars woke up early to watch Jennifer Lawrence announce the nominations for the Academy Awards. Or, if they were too anxious to watch, they laid awake in their beds waiting for "the call." While the call didn't happen for everyone (GOSLING! We still love you, always + forever), a handful of bigtime movie stars' phones presumably blew up with kudos and congrats for their nominations -- including Brad Pitt, Michelle Williams, Viola Davis, Jonah Hill and Meryl Streep (obvs).

Pitt, getting nominated for his performance as a leading man in Moneyball, said that he was thrilled that both Moneyball and Tree of Life were nominated, and decreed, "Pancakes for everyone."
