Whitney Houston Dies at 48 -- UPDATED
We have some very tragic, shocking news to share today. One of music's most legendary superstars, Whitney Houston, has passed away.

A rep for the 48-year-old singer confirmed the heartbreaking news to the Associated Press, but details surrounding her death remain unclear.
TMZ sources claim that Houston died at the Beverly Hills Hotel and members of her entourage found her in her hotel room. She was at the hotel in preparation for Clive Davis' pre-Grammy's party.
UPDATE: According to TMZ, a member of Whitney's entourage found the singer in her hotel room and called hotel security. Security then called 911. The fire department was already at the hotel for an unrelated call and police arrived within minutes. When paramedics arrived the singer was unresponsive. They performed CPR, but it did not work and Whitney was pronounced dead at 3:55 pm.
Although, there doesn't seem to be any foul play involved, Beverly Hills Police Department detectives have begun a full investigation. Radar Online is now reporting that a number of prescription drugs, including Lorazepam, Valium and Xanax were found in her room.
