This Summer, 'Glee' Won't Be Coming to a City Near You, Says Show Creator Ryan Murphy
Bummer! It's just been announced that the cast of Glee will not be touring this summer. Instead, they'll go the more traditional TV hiatus route and get two and a half months of summer break.

For the past two years, the cast of Glee has been touring the world, performing in sold out concerts in major arenas across the U.S., Canada, England, and Ireland. But, according to EW, show creator Ryan Murphy has said that won't be happening this year. The news is a little surprising, considering how high the demand for the concerts has been. (I tried to get tickets for the show the first time they came to Radio City Music Hall and it was damn near impossible.)
But maybe this is a sign that Glee isn't quite the smash hit it once was. The series has still not been picked up for a fourth season, and there has been a lot of back-and-forth about the fate of the show's graduating seniors (Finn, Kurt, and Rachel). Plus it seems the new NBC show Smash has stolen some of their audience. Could it be possible that the show won't be back next year? I think that unlikely, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Instead of the concert tour, the Glee producers have decided to have a one-time benefit concert at the Hollywood Bowl this fall to raise money for their charity Give a Note, which focuses on arts education. And hey, at least the show's actors will get a chance to work on different projects this summer! Maybe this means, come next year, we'll be seeing a lot more Glee people on our movie screens.
Are you bummed that Glee won't be going on tour this year?
