New Details Emerge on Whitney Houston's Funeral Service

As fans around the world mourn the death of Whitney Houston, her close family and friends prepare to say goodbye to Whitney at a private ceremony in New Jersey this Saturday. While the service may be private, certain details have been made public -- including that the legendary Aretha Franklin will be singing at the funeral, according to Entertainment Tonight. Not only is Aretha a wonderful choice because of her soulful voice -- but she also happens to be Whitney Houston's godmother.

According to the report, Aretha was personally asked by Clive Davis, and she will sing I Will Always Love You.

Whitney's service is invitation-only and will be at New Hope Baptist Church in New Jersey -- the church where she sang as a child. TMZ is reporting that Whitney will be buried  next to her father, John Russell Houston, Jr., at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey.

While we're happy that her friends and family can mourn this tragic loss privately, we hope there will be another organized public service so that her fans can also pay their respects to the beloved singer. In any case, we'll be reporting as new details come forward.
