Charlie Sheen Publicly Apologizes For 'Ashton Kutcher Sucks' Comment

Charlie Sheen is no stranger to controversy, and he stirred up some more last week when he called into TMZ Live and publicly blasted his former employer Two and a Half Men and the show's new star Ashton Kutcher. But now he's backtracking -- at least on some of his remarks -- and has issued a public apology to Kutcher.

EW reports that while talking with TMZ Live, Sheen said, "I'm tired of lying. I'm tired of pretending the show doesn't suck. I'm tired of pretending Ashton doesn't suck. I'm tired of pretending they're not completely adrift." He went on to say that he feels bad for Kutcher because "he's saddled with such bad writing."

But a few days later, Sheen apologized in an open letter to Kutcher:

Dear Ashton--
My bad.
I was disrespectful to a man doing his best.
I got excited and threw you into a crossfire.
The rest of my statement I stand behind.
You, however, deserve better.
Safety in your travels good sir.

Well, that was nice! Good job, Charlie. No word yet on whether Kutcher has read (or accepted) the apology.

Charlie Sheen's new FX show Anger Management (which co-stars Selma Blair) is scheduled to begin shooting March 22. Hey, maybe he'll pick up a few things and learn to "manage" his "anger" a little better! This letter of apology is a pretty good first step, don't you think?
