Adele Channels Her Inner M.I.A. and Gives Middle Finger After Getting Cut Off at the 2012 Brit Awards
Uh-Oh! It looks like Adele has landed herself in the middle of some controversy! Fresh off her six-Grammy wins, she headed home to England to attend the 2012 Brit Awards, where she was given the awards for Best British Album and Best British Female Artist.
However, while giving her acceptance speech for Best Album, the show's host James Cordon cut the singer off for the sake of time -- and Adele was less than thrilled about it! So much so, in fact, that she gave the middle finger right there on stage! "I flung the middle finger," she told BBC after the show. "That was for the suits at the Brit Award, not my fans. I'm sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me."

This controversial gesture comes not too long after M.I.A. did the same thing while performing with Madonna at the 2012 Superbowl Halftime Show. Now, although I do think Adele's gesture was uncalled for on live television, she at least had some reasoning behind her decision to flip the bird! On the other hand, for M.I.A., it was just something she did impusively and without any particular reason.
