Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones Not Returning to Season Two of 'The X-Factor'

Uh-OH! It looks like after just one season of Fox's The X-Factor, the show is already in for some big changes! That's because the show's host Steve Jones, along with judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger won't be returning for season two.

Although it seems like Scherziner left the show willingly, sources have revealed to E! News that Simon Cowell wants to take the show in another direction -- and that means it's him who doesn't need his original panel anymore. The news all broke on Monday night, starting with a tweet from Jones about his departure from the show. "I won't be hosting next seasons X Factor which is a shame but I can't complain as I've had a great time," he wrote. "Good luck to everyone on the show."

Scherzinger's news came next, when a source revealed to E! that she has other plans for next year in mind. "She wants to focus on her music career," the source said. "She's spoken to Simon and he's given her his blessing." The source explained that X-Factor took up more time than Scherzinger had orginially planned and there was no way she could do both music and the show.

However, the most surprising news of the night concerns Abdul, who is Cowell's longtime friend and followed him from American Idol to the X-Factor. What makes this SO shocking though, is that a source explained it was Cowell who fired Abdul from the show, leaving only himself and L.A. Reid as returning members.
