Melissa McCarthy Talks Disbelief of Oscar Nomination Announcement
Generally speaking, pooping in a sink in a movie does not translate into Oscar gold. Unless, of course, you're Melissa McCarthy, whose wickedly funny performance in the smash-hit Bridesmaids has landed her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress!
But in spite of her Golden Globe nomination, Melissa was not expecting the Oscar nom at all. "When they said my name I was like, ‘What show is this? This must be some other show,'" she told E! Online, charmingly.

"I kept saying that, but when my picture came up I just kind of crumpled and my husband said, ‘You just got nominated for an Academy Award,'" she said. Her husband, in case you didn't know, is Ben Falcone, who played the Air Marshall Jon, whom Melissa's character hits on while they're on the plane. (When I found that out after seeing the movie, I felt overwhelmed by the cuteness of it all).
And not only was she nominated for Bridesmaids, but writer and star Kristen Wiig, along with her writing partner Annie Mumolo were nominated for Best Original Screenplay. Melissa says of their nomination, "I am so excited for Kristen and Annie. I can't feel like more is right with the world. I root for good movies—period! But I know it means a lot to a lot of people when a comedy gets in there."

And while she might be ecstatic, the movie star has to get back to her day job: starring on Mike & Molly “I’m going to be bouncing off the walls. I feel bad because I am going to be so spastic and don’t know if I’ll get any of my lines right," she said of her say ahead.
Congrats to the entire Bridesmaids crew -- and while there might not be a sequel coming out, we anxiously await any kind of hilarious reunion, bowel movements and all.
