Skylar Grey Talks New Album, 2011 VMAs & Busts a Rhyme!

One of our favorite singer/ songwriters Skylar Grey hit the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards carpet looking more colorful than usual -- in mustard yellow instead of her usual blacks and grays! We love!

The I Need a Doctor singer, chatted with us about her new album, Love The Way You Lie being nominated and she even got gangsta as she busted a rhyme with Hollywire's host, Chelsea Briggs!

Sklyar informed us that although this is her first time at the MTV Awards show, she actually won a Video Music Award back in 2006 for Ring Tone Of The Year for her collaboration in the Fort Minor song, Where'd You Go. Such an interesting fun fact, that here at Hollywire we had no idea about!

Playing a big part in the writing process of the hit song, Love The Way You Lie, performed by Eminem and Rihanna. Gray says she is honored to be apart of it, "I mean I'm just really here to support my friends, but I'm excited to be apart of something that's up for something tonight." The modest singer responded.

The 25-year-old singer has been busy working on her new album that drops in January, and with her newest single, Invisible already reaching 500,000 downloads on iTunes-- it's safe to say she's off to a pretty successful start! Impressive!

Judging by her first single, we already know we are going to love her album. Just saying...
